Dear Dad by Luke V

I really, really want an i-Phone.

I deserve one.
I clean up after myself and set the table.
I also deserve it because I will be kind to you.
I really like i-Phones because
I am quite fascinated with them
You can send e-mails to Facebook without viruses
I really like the games on it
And it is an i-Pod too
Can I please have an i-Phone Dad?

Winter is … by RB

ski-ing down the mountain
building snowmen
snowball fights with my annoying brother
I win sometimes
cuddling up in front of the fire
my electric blanket
drinking hot chocolate
rain pattering on the window and the roof
splashing in the puddles and catching raindrops
on my tongue
tree leaves rustling
I get to wear my big, warm clothes and my boots

Trees by JG

I think trees are the best because they give you oxygen and you and climb them. You can turn them into paper and toilet rolls, and books and all sorts of things. You can make them into pencils and shelves and walls and floors, tables and doors and roofs. Trees grow in parks, forests and gardens.

You can build houses from wood and timber and you can also use trees to shade your house. Some trees give us apples and oranges and my favourite, bananas. The only bad thing about some trees is that the leaves can block drains and they can go in swimming pools.

Trees are very important to the whole planet and especially to people who help save the environment.

The Mare by PP, edited by RL

The beautiful mare is at our window,
We are stroking the mare’s nose.
Her soft breath tickles our hands.
As the cold day goes by the moon rises as the sun goes down.
The mare returns to the woods below.
My heart dropped down when she left me standing there.
We go to the kitchen to make hot chocolate.
We go to bed with a smile on our faces for how lucky we are.
When we wake, we jump out of bed.
We race to the window,
our hearts thumping.
And there is the Mare.
We fall in love with her.

Ten cheeky little monkeys
Eight small possums
Stripy zebras run
Seals in a big huddle
Turtle moving slowly
A platypus in rain
Crocodiles in a house
Lemurs all the same.

Night Stars by AD

night stars
twinkling like diamonds
wish upon the first star you see
as the moon fades away
the stars vanish like magic
